What is Barn Steel?

Barn Steel is a type of roofing panel designed for agriculture buildings and Pole Barns.

It comes in panels 36" wide, and is installed with exposed fasteners.

The manufactures of these panels state in their product literature that is is "not intended for residential applications".

Which means "don't use it on your house"

All of exposed fasteners seen in the picture have thin rubber washers that will fail due to UV exposure at around 15 years old.

If every screw is not properly installed they may leak right from the start.

Your shingles were not installed on your home with the nails exposed, why would you want your metal roof?

Professionals will never install 45 year steel roofing products with 15 year fasteners.

Your better off sticking with shingles.
