What is Hemming?

To "Hem" a standing seam roof panel is to bend the end of the panel back 180 degrees on itself to attach to the drip edge starter trim, or valley starter trim.

This allows us to lock the panel onto the trim without having to use exposed fasteners and creating a future leak point.

This also aids in allowing thermal expansion of the panel to resist "oil canning"

This Process takes additional time and labor, which is why it is avoided by non professional installers.
